What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

The following is the Statement of Faith of Cross Creek Community Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in the Bible.

Cross Creek Community Church is a Christ-centered, Spirit-led, Bible teaching, Prayer-focused, Missional, Body of Christ.
We believe the essentials of our Christian faith include:

The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ
The Resurrection and Ascension of Christ:  Jesus Christ is the only God who has overcome death.
He is crucified, risen and coming again.
The Bible:  Old and New Testament, is the infallible, authoritative Word of God,
revealing what is important to the Christian faith.
Salvation is by God's grace and not by our works.
Salvation is found in Christ alone.
We believe in one God who is Trinitarian in nature: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the power of prayer.
We believe in the classic Christian doctrines of our faith as found in the Nicene and Apostle's Creeds.
We believe in and practice Baptism and Holy Communion (The Lord's Supper).
We believe marriage is to be between a man an a woman.
We believe in being led by the Presence of God.
We believe in the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to use His gifts to build the Church.
We believe in a missional, gifts-based church where everyone is invited to
discover their place in God's plan and utilize their spiritual gifts in His service.
We believe that all people matter to God, from the moment of conception until the last breath.
We believe God has plans an a purpose for each person, and that God is at work around us, and desires a real and personal continuing love relationship with each one of us.
Everyone is welcome in our church and everyone has a place.

The oversight of the church is structured according to the pattern of the churches in the New Testament.
The oversight is comprised of a team of elders, led by the lead elder.  In our case, the senior or lead elder is the pastor of the church.
The eldership team is supported by a group of leaders who head up various ministries in the church.  These include worship, prayer, discipleship, outreach, youth and children, and administration.  The youth/children ministry is led by a youth director.
We do not vote.  We work to come to consensus regarding leadership decisions.  We do this through discussion and prayer as needed.  Also, we ask for support of the group decision publicly even if still not in complete agreement privately.
We strive for unity.
