Our Story

How it all started...

We were commissioned as a new church start July 2008 as a daughter church of Covenant United Methodist Church.

In August 2016, we were released with blessing from the Florida annual conference of the UMC to become Cross Creek Community Church.  We have worshiped and served at Creekside Middle School in Port Orange since 2009.

To meet the community need of childcare, we opened our Day School in 2011.  As a missional church, we love serving the communities of Port Orange and New Smyrna Beach.  The love of Christ is shared globally as well with ongoing work in Kenya, Africa.

Expanding the vision...

We don’t want to be half-hearted, or “lukewarm” followers of Christ. We want to be "fully devoted" followers of Christ.  What does this look like?  It looks like people who are passionate, humble, kind and thoughtful.  It looks like people who put God and others before themselves, share life in all it's messiness and brokenness with each other and others who are searching for a relationship with the Loving Savior to whom we turn to for guidance, comfort, peace and purpose. His Word, the Bible, guides us daily.   We want to become people who are willing to sacrifice their own comfort, agenda or pleasures to meet the needs of others.  We want to become more Christ-like and live out the values of His kingdom by the power of His Holy Spirit made evident in our lives, our church, and our community.

Where we are headed...

We have enjoyed worshiping and serving at Creekside Middle School for ten
years, but have now come to the point where we believe it is time to purchase property.
(If you are reading this and can contribute to our land fund, or know someone else who
can, we would be most grateful! Check out the giving app for more info.)
God has grown our Day School from 8 children in an after school program, to a total 58
children in preschool, VPK, and after school K-5th grade this past year.  We love children at our church and Day School and will continue to provide safe, professional, Christian care for children of all ages.
We have also added programs for the elderly, serving in a new assisted living
residence in our area.
Where we are headed is a place of great promise and possibility as we continue
to live as fully devoted followers of Christ, impacting communities for God.
